Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Shih graduated from the Kaoushiung Medical University in 1987 with a Bachelor degree in Dentistry.  In Taiwan, He practiced Orthodontics and General Dentistry. In 1993, he received his Doctorate degree from the prestigious Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.

In dental Implants and Sedation dentistry, he has helped thousands of implant patients to restore of their smile for more than 20 years. He is one of few dentists who completed and received all Surgical, Restorative and Laboratory certification in Branemark Implant System. He has trained with world’s most prominent Oral Surgeon Dr. Kraut at Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, N.Y.  to advance his Implant technique. He is known in San Diego as a leading dentist for people who wanted to snooze through their dental and implant treatments.

After Practicing General & Implant Dentistry in Upland, California for many years. Dr. Shih and his wife Stephanie found a beautiful community in Scripps Ranch, San Diego and built their office in 2000, an elite office with a kid-friendly setting  to cater for the family with young children.  In 2003, because his son's need in orthodontics treatment, Dr. Shih has researched & developed a bioefficient brackets; with the new technology “Shismart Technique” and filed his patents.  He is known as “the Dentist of fast Bioefficient Braces” in San Diego area.  Dr. Shih is a member of San Diego Dental Society, California Dental Association and American Dental Association.
